Come Meet Alice Paul! (January 11th , 1885 – July 9th, 1977).
A key figure in the women’s suffrage movement, Alice Paul was born into a Quaker family in our very own Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Some of Alice’s achievements include…
- Earning a Masters of Arts degree from The University of Pennsylvania in 1907 as well as a Doctorate of Law from American University in 1928
- Working tirelessly towards the passage of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote.
- Authoring the Equal Rights Amendment which, unfortunately, still has yet to be passed.
Learn more about this dynamic woman as we listen to her story and tour her home at the Alice Paul Institute.
Registration required: Please register with your host, Joanne Ryn, via email at JoMaries63@gmail.com on or before June 3rd. A fee of $15 to be paid at the door the day of the tour, exact amount appreciated.
